January 2012 - Indie Month

Although January is a generally a very boring month, its when many indie bands release new music and this year is no exception. So continue reading below to discover great guitar bands with new music this month.


The Maccabees - Given To The Wild (out 9th January)
Their third album and if lead single 'Pelican' is anything to go by its their best so far.

Tribes -  Baby (out January 16th) 
Recently announced for the NME Awards 2012 Tour, Tribes are up there with some of the best new bands around.

The Big Pink - Future This (out January 16th)
You'll have probably heard their hit single 'Dominoes' from a few years ago. Well this time they are bigger and better than ever before.

Howler - America Give Up (out January 16th)
New band Howler are hotly tipped by NME Magazine among others.

The Dandies - Battle Cry (out now)
The best new rock n' roll band I've heard since Biffy Clyro.

The Carpels - Bears (out 8th January)
Birmingham-based band sound like a mix between Foals and Two Door Cinema Club with their own little twist.

The Arcadian Kicks - I Wanna Take You Home (out January 22nd)
Also from Birmingham; The Arcadian Kicks' influences of Fleetwood Mac; Sonic Youth and The Naked & Famous are shown clearly in new single I Wanna Take You Home.

All ready shortlisted for the BBC Sound Of 2012, Friends are tipped to be one of the hottest new bands around.
